The Practice is unique in that it does half its therapy free even though it
is entirely private. Its clients range from the rich and famous to the broke and
homeless and they bring with them every imaginable problem from chronic depression
to insufficient promotion, from couple trouble to social isolation, from stress
and anxiety to problems at school, from temper tantrums to memory loss: in fact,
anything that anyone wants different.
The work of the Practice has now branched out into organisational and business
consultation and coaching, personal and professional development and it has close
links with a specialist publisher.
Most weeks there are two- or four-day courses being held and a constant turnover
of clients from all walks of life. A heroin addict struggling back from the edge
of life might be followed by a successful businessman wanting to maintain a satisfied
workforce while upstairs a management consultant might be on a course alongside
a drugs counselor.
Away from the practice its members run courses in most of the major UK cities
and do specially commissioned courses for, among others, the NHS, local education
and social services departments, the Probation Service and occupational counseling
services. They also provide in-house consultations to organisations and management
teams in both the private and public sectors.
