Brief Therapy Practice courses are practical and are designed to make it possible for participants to make use of the ideas in their work the day after the course, whatever they might be doing on that day. A recent course evaluation by the commissioner of a 5-day training for workers in adult mental health found that:

"98% of respondents anticipated (immediately following the course) that solution focused brief therapy skills would be very useful or quite useful in their practice. Six months later 100% of respondents were finding the skills useful in practice".

"Change in practice was reported by 94% and was sustained by 90% of those responding to the questionnaire six months after training".

"85% of participants anticipated using the newly acquired skills with most clients after four days training. Six months later 62% of respondents were using the acquired skills with most clients and 35% with a few clients".

All courses are evaluated, 1 - 10, in relation to content, presentation, usefulness, enjoyment, whether the expectations of participants have been met and how the courses compare with any other courses attended. Brief Therapy Practice courses emerge with an average score over 8, with individual courses scoring well above 9. Participants have commented:

"Thanks for a really worthwhile and enjoyable course."

"I left the course feeling that I now have a very practical and empowering model of practice, very different from anything else I have used."

"Offered me solutions in places where I seem to get stuck in my work."

"Trust among group members enabled some good work to be done. I've come on leaps and bounds. Thank you!!"

"Challenging, empowering, refuelling."
